Melting Snow; Melting Tension
Snow, Moons & Time + A mini meditation for you βοΈ π π°οΈ
Todayβs episode of The Mindful Minute is a mini meditation that feels just right for this time of year: Melting Snow; Melting Tension.
This past weekend, we headed up to the mountains of North Carolina for a day hike, and we got caught in surprise snow storm -
Huge, fluffy snowflakes were blowing in sideways, but by the time we got back to the trail head, the snow was already disappearing as quick as it appeared.
In todayβs meditation practice, we listen to the sound of melting snow.
Now, I donβt know about you, but it never really occurred to me that melting snow makes a sound. It does. It produces a smooth, slow gurgle. No drips, just a near constant murmur that reminds us that change is happening in every moment. The daffodils are pushing up, the hyacinth will bloom soon. The literal and metaphorical arrival of spring is imminent. It is time to think about what will plant during this ripe time.
Huge thank you to Gordon Hempton, sound artist and acoustic ecologist, for the use of this soundscapes.

Behind The Scenes: Leap Day & the February Moon
One morning earlier this week, I sat reading βOur Moonβ by Rebecca Boyle and happened to glance out the window. The February moon was directly in my line of sight π
Iβve loved reading about the different ways that cultures over time have made sense of time itself by watching the moon, the stars, and counting lunar cycles.
On this Leap Day (thatβs today!), I thought it would be fun to revisit the meditation series I did on time:
